How much does an intruder alarm cost?
The price depends on the areas to protect, the number and type of detectors, sounders and controls, and the installation work. Send your postcode and a few details for a quotation based on your property.
How should I compare alarm costs for a three-bedroom house?
Bedroom count alone does not define the system. List the external doors, accessible windows, rooms and outbuildings you want protected, then agree the detectors, contacts, sounders and everyday controls. Include pets and any requirement to arm downstairs while you sleep upstairs.
Compare quotations on the same basis: equipment ownership, installation, app setup, warranty, servicing and optional monitoring. For a contract-based system, ask about the minimum term, total payments, price changes, cancellation terms and which functions remain available when the contract ends.
For a useful five-year comparison, add the upfront installed price to 60 months of any recurring charges, plus quoted maintenance and other expected costs. I-Spy provides a property-specific quotation for a system you own outright; optional monitoring and additional services are quoted separately.
Can I control the alarm from my phone?
Compatible AirShield systems support app control through DMSS, including arming, disarming and supported notifications. We help set up access and explain what connectivity is required.
Do I have to use a phone to operate it?
No. Your system can include suitable keypad or keyfob controls. We help choose the options that work for the people using your property and explain them at handover.
Can I have an alarm if I have pets?
Tell us what pets you have and which rooms they use. Detector choice, placement and arming arrangements need to take them into account. We assess the layout before recommending the setup.
Can it protect a garage or separate building?
We can assess this as part of the design. Distance, building materials, signal coverage and how you want to operate the alarm determine whether it should form part of the main system or use a separate arrangement.
Can I use it alongside my CCTV?
Yes. We can plan your alarm alongside CCTV and assess supported links between compatible equipment. The available features depend on the devices and configuration, so we confirm what is included in your quote.
Are there subscriptions or monthly fees?
No. You buy the system outright and own it. There are no subscriptions or monthly fees. Any future upgrades or additional work are agreed and quoted separately.
